Dans le cadre de la série des Distinguished Lecture 2016 du laboratoire interdisciplinaire IAST, Rebecca Stott (Université East Anglia) nous fera l'honneur de rendre visite à Toulouse pour nous présenter une lecture sur la Pollinisations croisées : Les récits dans la science et la littérature. Cette conférence s'inscrit dans le programme des "Academic-Business Talk" destinés aux étudiants.

Résumé (en anglais):
Professor Rebecca Stott, novelist and historian of science, will explore the many rich and imaginative ways in which poets, natural philosophers, novelists and dramatists in the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries 'cross-pollinated' new narratives about the origins of species. Using a series of case studies from Paris to Derbyshire she will show how literary forms provided a forum where emerging ideas about the evolution of species might be pondered, tested, promoted and dramatised whilst evading the scrutiny of church and state authorities.
