Skywise: Connecting the aviation industry

Aircraft generate enormous amounts of data: an Airbus A320 generates the equivalent of two high-definition movies every hour. Integrating and analysing this data make flying cheaper, safer, and greener. However, aviation data is highly fragmented, with airlines, manufacturers, airports, and many other players each owning a piece. To address this challenge, Airbus launched Skywise to connect the aviation industry around an open data platform. Growing Skywise and embedding it in the broader Digital Transformation of Airbus required unique business models along with novel technical solutions. Easy access to integrated data is already driving a revolution in aerospace: how will the aviation industry change as a result?
