Abstract
Economic consulting is a rather obscure industry that is rarely discuss and whose workings and focus are not generally well understood. In the first part of this session, we will present some thoughts on the industry, what we do as economists and how it differs from other types of employment (e.g., government, academia). In the second part of the talk, I will discuss how we have organized our firm and what students might look for as they search for employment and try to determine what type of firm and job might be best suited to their preferences and temperament.
