Our colleague Yves Aragon left us on his 77th birthday, on October 28, 2021.
Yves was recruited as an Assistant at the University Toulouse 1 Capitole in 1970, then promoted to Senior Lecturer in 1985 and to University Professor in 1992.
Yves was the director of the DESS in statistics and econometrics from 1992 to 2005. He has contributed to the training of hundreds of students in statistics and econometrics.
He was also a leader with the creation in 2003 of the Master 2 in statistics and econometrics, the first degree of the University Toulouse 1 Capitole created in open and distance learning.
During his career, Yves Aragon has been interested in many areas of statistics, including surveys, nonparametric and spatial statistics, and time series. He has co-authored papers with many colleagues, including Jean-Jacques Laffont. His book "Les séries temporelles avec R" is very popular with students and colleagues.
Dynamic, benevolent, competent, and always in a good mood, Yves was an exceptional colleague and teacher.
We will keep him in our hearts.
